The purpose of this application is to support medical doctors in calculating correct doses of opioid drugs for their patients.

Opioids are drugs commonly used in pain treatment. Patients often need to be switched from one opioid to another due to various reasons (e.g. burdensome, or harmful side effects, getting saturated with the drug etc.). Calculation of proper opioid doses poses many problems among medical specialists.

This online tool calculates correct doses of opioid drugs when switching opioid to another.

My responsibilities:

  • developing front-end of the application
  • developing back-end of the application
  • writing the algorithm for calculating correct doses of opioid drugs
  • deploying the application to Google App Engine
  • testing the application

Development of web application for supporting medical doctors in making medical diagnoses. The user can enter a medical epicrisis and the application analyses the text and shows all possible diagnoses based on the patient’s symptoms.

Project was developed as MVC (minimal value product, i.e. it contains data for only few diseases and their symptoms at this moment, just to show functionality and potential of the app) for applying for Horizon2020 funding, as well as, for further development.

My responsibilities:

  • designing the database
  • entering data into database
  • developing front-end of the application
  • developing back-end of the application
  • writing the algorithm for analyzing text and collecting patient’s symptoms from the epicrisis
  • writing the algorithm for suggesting medical diagnoses based on patient’s symptoms
  • deploying the application to Amazon Web Services Elastic Beanstalk environment
  • testing the application
  • helping in creating medical content

Creating a search engine, where the user can choose a medical product and see which medical doctor can prescribe it, and the other way around, the user can search for a medical doctor and see which medical products they can prescribe.

Application written in #java using #javaee framework, medical data stored in #json format.

Application deployed to Google App Engine.

Project: mobiReh - remote rehabilitation system

mReh Sp. z o.o. is a start-up company I co-established in 2015 in order to create a remote rehabilitation system called mobiReh. The system consists of (1) wearable sensors, (2) mobile application, (3) web-based platform, all of which support the patient in undergoing physiotherapy at the home settings, being at the same time under strict supervision of a medical specialist.

Responsibilities:

  • coordination of the medical team with the IT section
  • management of mobiReh product
  • writing and editing grant proposal applications
  • writing and editing scientific papers
  • product development
  • preparation of desktop application (Java)
  • preparation of the user interface (Java)
  • implementation of the event handling (Java)

Achievements:

  • I received a 50 000 Euro grant (Seal of Excellence) in the SME Instrument H2020 contest
